All is fair in love and war, but most definately not in talk radio!!!

Fairness Doctrine Obama Style!

I despise this legislation. Not because it is really unfair because it is very unfair to mainly radio markets while ignoring the other media markets. I am very opposed to this because it regulates a market by that has a niche.

Talk radio has been a conservative megaphone. That is not to say that conservatives are hoarding this to themselves. Liberal talk radio has had their chances, but failed miserably. There are indeed some successful radio pundits that lean left, but that is because they found a market for it. I am okay with that. Conservative talk radio also found that market.

Why do we need to regulate something that doesn't need regulation? This is not fair to the market of ideas. If people truly didn't want to listen to talk radio that leans right, then they would turn off the radio. If people wanted liberal talk radio, they would also go out and find that as well. This is basically the lefts way of dealing with what they deem criticism.

This doctrine will essentially cost some of the lesser known talk radio hosts their jobs and possibly send some talk radio stations to program differently. Money, jobs, and advertisers will all be hurt because someones' feelings were hurt.

I agree with the last paragraph with this article. Talk radio hosts and listeners need to speak up. Don't sit back and watch any attack on your market rights get thrown into the Obama Political Machine's wood-chipper. Conservative Congress members need to show the public and the Executives that this is not acceptable.

Truth Weathers the Test of Time

While I was born under President Gerald R. Ford, the first President that I remember was Ronald Reagan. Between the ages of 5 and 13, I can't say that I paid any particular interest to politics. Like any school child of the 1980s, I could tell you that Ronald Reagan's favorite snack was Jelly Bellies, the gourmet jelly bean that was immensely popular as a result. Beyond that, there wasn't a whole lot that impressed me about the political scene as a kid. I stayed up on current events through middle school and high school, and could always tell you any number of facts about our government and current leadership, but politics was far from my mind on a regular basis.

Quite a lot has changed in the interceding 20 years. Politics has become more of a persuasive passion in my life, something I enjoy discussing respectfully. Sadly, diplomacy and a sense of civil dissent is all too rare, and it's often easier to

Google Makes Some Noise...

http://www.drudgereport.com/flashgof.htm

I understand this is used to trace traffic based on the spikes in Flu searches on Google which in turn is then relayed to the CDC. This technology can be used for anything and is currently used for many things. The average citizen of the States doesn't realize this currently happens and that the internet is NOT as private as they think. But...

What about the Patriot Act and all those "violations" that were championed by the Left? The difference here is this is a private company whereas the government is the other entity. So basically we are alright with private companies keeping track of our internet usage, including email, site hits, and searches, while the government should be bound by legal limitations to respect our privacy?

Why?

Not so secret names...

Article is basically about telling the public the code names that are given to the new, soon-to-be occupants of the White House. The only thing that strikes me odd about this is the use of the word code. Wouldn't code imply that there is some aspect of secrecy? Now if the public knows the code names, I think there isn't really any code about it.

Campaign Finance Spreading the Wealth???

Comments to come!!! A little late, but really truly funny

A Portent of Things to Come

I'd say this was spotted in the footage of crowds outside the White House on Election Night, but this was less spotted than flaunted, as the bearer brandished it proudly.

A flag... red field with yellow hammer and sickle.

Only after a good 30 seconds of the fool waving it at the camera did his friend tell him to hide it. It's vantage spot mid-air was quickly replaced by an Obama tee shirt thrust into the night sky.

A sad day, my friends. A sad day.

Congratulations President Elect Barack Obama

You fought hard and often dirty in the primaries (grrr) and general election. You campaigned with the best of them and deserve to be president.

With that said, why don't people truly know who you are?

Joe the Plumber gets death threat from idiot talk show host...

Compassionate Liberal San Fran talk show host and Huffington Post blogger offers up a nice death threat to a 15-minuter. This guy and the guys who wanted assassinate or setup plans to do so to Barack Obama should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. No ifs, ands, or buts.

Joe fires back...!

Good for you Joe! Sadly you have taken a brunt of the media's extreme criticism, and it is not your fault.

Cartoon.

Get it? The MSM is the lapdog for Obama? Oh well, I thought it was funny!

Coal-Mining States Beware!!!

Obama: My policies are great and the MSM won't report it! I can say whatever I want and then say something completely different to the people of the US and not fear for a rebuttle! THANK YOU MSM!

Except for the fact that you have left behind ample evidence in many cases where your rhetoric and your actual beliefs don't add up. This is just one example. Stop telling the people that you believe one thing while your past conversations don't match. It seems Sen. Obama just wants to here himself talk just to talk.
